We are seeking students to join us from January 2025 - June 2025 for a full-time (40 hours a work week) opportunity to gain practical experience in software development. We are seeking a Software Engineer Co-op for our Video Analytics team who is passionate about developing video analytics software for embedded Linux platforms. The software components of our products includes computer vision, machine learning, image analysis and embedded processing. In this role, you will work closely with a team of computer vision experts responsible for integrating, optimizing and testing new video analytics algorithms on embedded hardware products such as cameras and servers. Responsibilities include: Application of object oriented patterns for the design of concurrent and networked software components
Use of C and C++ and associated compilers, linkers, debuggers, and visual design environments to produce robust, high performance applications and libraries across multiple platforms
Creation and maintenance of succinct design documentation
The debug and maintenance of existing software products.
Estimation and tracking of time required to complete assigned tasks
Participate in the integration of new computer vision and video analytics algorithms and features on camera and appliance platforms
Qualifications: Progress towards a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
Strong Object Oriented design and programming and debugging ability (C++, Python)
Exposure and interest in developing embedded Linux software for camera and appliance platforms
Experience with image processing and open source video packages including OpenCV
Experience with scripting languages, build systems, and version control systems
Understanding of modern memory, storage, I/O bus, processor, operating system, networking, and database architectures

High School Diploma is required
Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science) with a graduation date of May 2025 or later
