The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Data Team Software Engineer/Product Owner. This position can be located out of Aurora, CO, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum, MD.
The Software Engineer/Product Owner position is responsible for understanding the needs of the customer and deciding the features of the product accordingly. The selected candidate will manage the development process, prioritize tasks for the team, and monitor progress. Administering backlogs will also come under the candidate's responsibility. The candidate must have attention to detail and be capable of leading the team in a way that achieves its goals. The candidate is accountable for maximizing the product value through the proper goal-oriented working of the development team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for creating Epics and Stories for the data team supporting TEFoS Common IPT.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the Software backlog for the Data team.
Responsible for cross-team Product Owner coordination with other SW teams, Integration, Test, Cyber, Networks, and Systems Engineering.
Enhance the agile methodology used by analyzing the feedback of the customers.
Responsible for validating team work products.
Basic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance required at time of application.
Bachelor’s degree in science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience in Agile, JIRA, and Confluence.
Experience with Java, Kubernetes, and Dockers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Product Owner or other relevant roles.
Analytical mind with good problem-solving abilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation and organization skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time and deliver good results even under pressure.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - $206,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
