Senior Software Engineer
to support and enhance an ecosystem of big data applications in a collaborative and mission-critical environment. As a key leader in software development, you'll drive the creation of cutting-edge solutions that empower decision-making and advance national security. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: Engage with customers, project managers, and cross-functional development teams to gather and define requirements, ensuring alignment with mission objectives. Design, develop, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management platforms. Provide detailed input into system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and software reuse strategies, optimizing system-level and individual component functionality. Apply advanced software engineering methodologies to develop, integrate, and support enterprise-level production environments. Conduct rigorous testing and review of software components, documenting results to ensure compliance with design requirements. Required Qualifications: Education & Experience:
BA/BS degree with 14+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Clearance:
Active Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph. Technical Expertise:
Strong familiarity with NoSQL/SQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL). Experience working with REST APIs, including secure transport methodologies. Proficiency with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Jenkins. Expertise in Microservices Architecture, Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. Containerization experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
Desired Qualifications: Hands-on experience with cloud platform technologies, preferably AWS. Familiarity with big data tools such as Elasticsearch, Splunk, NiFi, and Kafka. Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies for iterative development. Proven experience building and deploying Docker-based applications. Knowledge of ETL processes and AI/ML concepts to support advanced data processing initiatives.
