Summary
The Director of Strategic Sourcing oversees strategic planning, commodity management, supplier selection, cost optimization, capital management, and risk mitigation. This role collaborates across functions—including Product Development, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Product Line Management, CPC Business Units, and partners with external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products aligned with financial goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to align supplier capabilities with business objectives, contributing to strategic and operational planning.
Lead, mentor, and drive high-performance outcomes within the CPC sourcing team.
Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies; manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance management and RFx processes.
Partner to co-develop and implement sourcing strategies, covering supplier identification, contract negotiations, and relationship management.
Foster partnerships with strategic suppliers to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries; identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
Assess supply chain risks for small molecule portfolios, developing contingency plans to ensure supply continuity.
Monitor industry trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies; perform market analyses to uncover new opportunities and risks.
Drive efficiency through data analytics, implementing improvements in sourcing processes, and leveraging performance metrics for supplier optimization.
Support the annual budget process, analyze Bills of Material (BOM), and provide cost guidance to identify financial risks and opportunities.
Uphold and assist in developing Sourcing & Supplier Quality policies; support ISO, ASI, and other certifications.
Maintain and enhance the ERP system to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
Demonstrate support of CPC core values. Comply with all company policies and safety regulations.
Perform other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
People Leadership
Management Responsibilities:
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business code of conduct and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Conducts reviews with team members to build effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for performance improvement.
Develops and facilitates comprehensive onboarding and new hire training for assigned team.
Builds team unity to encourage retention and continuity of operations.

Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
10+ years of strategic sourcing experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years in a supervisory capacity within Strategic Sourcing.
Proven expertise in Category Management, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost-saving initiatives.
Proficient skills navigating large-scale ERP systems and PowerBI; Oracle preferred.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently or within a team.
In-depth understanding of manufacturing technologies.
Experience with suppliers in plastics, metals, or related fields, preferred.
Creative problem solver. Able to analyze and resolve problems using initiative.
Self-motivated and confident. Comfortable to work independently, as well as within cross-functional teams.
Able to balance many tasks and conflicting priorities. Able to negotiate conflict.
Astute organizational skills with drive to meet deliverables in a timely manner. Attention to detail and accuracy. High level of a sense of urgency.
High degree of computer proficiency, including software applications of Microsoft Word, Outlook PowerPoint, and advanced Excel.
Experience working in a global, multi-site manufacturing company, preferred.
Experience working in medical device or other regulated industry, preferred.
