Summary:
Reporting to the VP, Integrated Supply Chain, this individual is responsible for the Purchasing and all Defined functions across Lapp USA and Lapp Canada, with a dotted line reporting matrix over Lapp Mexico, Lapp Panama, and Lapp Brazil. Primary activities in this role are department management, strategy development, supplier development, inventory control, and associate development of the Purchasing Team. This person evaluates the inventory and product consumption to determine proper fulfillment strategies and inventory levels. This includes, but is not limited to, the purchasing volume and strategy and obsolescence management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Continually monitors and develops Supplier network to align with defined fulfillment strategy and maximizes material availability while maintaining an acceptable cost structure. Continual evaluation of supplier networks based on defined criteria to ensure suppliers are complying with our expectations and required service levels including on-time delivery, quality, reliability, selection, price, and other key elements as defined. Continually monitors and negotiates Supplier contracts that align with our strategy and market demand for quality, delivery, and price. Ensures all activities within the Purchasing Department are conducted within governance of regulatory requirements and LAPP Directives. Conducts the evaluation of inventory and product consumption to determine proper fulfillment strategies and inventory levels, including the following: Fiscal Objectives (inventory value, turn, etc.) Obsolescence management Regulatory Compliance Develops, suggests, and implements: procedures, workflows, and staffing to support strategies and objectives across the Americas region. Ensures Purchasing Associates are trained and developed in accordance with outlined objectives and requirements. Other duties and responsibilities as defined on a temporary basis (projects, cross-functional requirements, etc.). Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages and is fully accountable for the Purchasing teams within Lapp USA and Lapp Canada, with a dotted line oversight for Lapp Mexico, Lapp Panama, and Lapp Brazil. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Work to identify and develop core competencies of Purchasing team associates to ensure success. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in materials management or other business-related discipline. Demonstrated proficiency in SAP. Strong Excel skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Keen understanding of business and strategic thinking. Excellent communication skills. Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience. Travel Requirements:
Up to 10% travel could be required concerning vendor contact, training, or other activities. Language Skills:
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common inventory and sales data, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of management and staff. Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, must be computer proficient and possess an ability to adapt quickly to various computer programs. Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Word. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is an advantage. Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, financial ratios, and business equations. Possess strong analytical skills. Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. Compensation:
After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $185,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
