Management JOB SUMMARY Working closely with the Vice President, the Senior Director will lead a portion of the studio team and direct the Marriott Luxury brand hotel design process for managed and franchised properties, ensuring brand compliance, quality control, and operational effectiveness. This role serves as a key Marriott and Global Design representative providing strategic brand and design guidance and maintaining strong partner relationships. Responsible for resource allocation, quality assurance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required 12 or more years’ progressive experience in architecture and/or interior design. 4-year degree from an accredited university in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Project Management or related discipline. Team leadership, proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, and strong project management skills. Preferred Eight or more years’ experience on hospitality projects. Architectural or Interior Design licensure/accreditation. Master of Architecture or advanced degree in related discipline. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Oversees the execution of architecture and interior design projects in the Luxury hard brand segment, collaborating with owners/franchisees and consultant teams to deliver appropriate, innovative design solutions that meet project budgets, schedules, and brand standards. Works closely with Brand, OFS, and other partners on strategic renovation initiatives to increase compliance, maximize owner/franchisee ROI, and protect brand integrity and guest experience. Maintains strong owner/franchisee relationships; engages in and leads strategic discussions in owner/franchise forums. Influences owners/franchisees through business, design, and brand expertise to gain compliance with brand requirements. Manages complex project processes and communications ensuring project team can complete responsibilities in effective and timely manner. Ensures accurate project data tracking and consistent adoption of tools and programs across the team. Distributes and monitors workload evenly across the team and strategically prioritizes highest impact work to maintain balance. Supports department leaders and functions as backup in their absence. Leads studio and cross-department initiatives and drives process innovation. Provides day-to-day management of team members’ performance and provides regular input for their improvement and career development. Represents Marriott and Global Design both internally and externally on projects and at industry events. Embraces mindset of continuous learning and improvement, seeking and adopting new processes, technology, and solutions for highest impact. The salary range for this position is $171,900 to $224,400 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Washington Applicants Only:
