What you get to do in this role: The Environmental Sustainability team is looking to hire an experienced Program Manager to lead on advancing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions program and supporting the decarbonization of our global carbon footprint. This person will use their proven GHG accounting expertise to lead the evolution of ServiceNow’s GHG accounting methodologies. In addition, this program manager will support the development of decarbonization strategies across our organizations and its value chains. Specifically, this role will assist with evaluating historical and projected GHG emissions, identifying key trends and hotspots, to support the team to implement solutions to meet our corporate sustainability commitments, including science-based targets, supplier engagement, 100% renewable electricity and net zero. You will also collaborate across teams to drive decarbonization initiatives, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to ESG reporting. This Program Manager of Environmental Sustainability will be reporting to ServiceNow’s Senior Manager of Environmental Sustainability. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong leader who can manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams. If you have a passion for the environment and the skills to drive meaningful change, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t meet all the qualifications. Data Collection and Management:

Manage the GHG accounting program by assisting with data collection, quality assurance, and compliance with reporting standards. Gather activity data on GHG emissions from offices, data centers, and other suppliers, aligning with ServiceNow’s sustainability goals. Maintain existing dashboards and tools that automatically collect and track GHG-related data throughout the year and support the development and implementation of new dashboards and tools that facilitate automation, leveraging AI where possible. Perform quality assurance on GHG data to ensure verification and audit preparedness, especially as mandatory reporting requirements go into effect.

Methodology Review and Enhancement:

Develop an approach and timeline for advancing ServiceNow’s GHG accounting methodologies with an emphasis on Scope 3 emissions reporting. Support the transition from spend-based calculation approach to supplier-specific and/or product-specific methodologies for relevant Scope 3 emission categories. Stay up-to-date on future GHG Protocol versions, e.g. updates from the GHGP Technical Working Groups and other stakeholders who may be involved. Collaborate with industry groups on sector-specific methodologies if needed, such as quantifying the emissions impact of artificial intelligence.

Verification and Reporting:

Manage the third-party GHG verification process, with an emphasis on preparedness for any mandatory reporting requirements and timelines (e.g. EU CSRD, US SEC). Deliver insightful environmental impact data to internal stakeholders to inform key business decisions, using tools like Watershed, PowerBI, Tableau, and leveraging AI where possible. Function as a subject matter expert in GHG emissions supporting all ESG related reporting for the ESG team such as CDP, GRI, CSRD, and annual reporting. Ensure compliance with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks and reporting standards, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-Based Targets, and CDP requirements. Collaborate on the annual Global Impact Report, particularly around GHG emissions and reductions, and support customer emissions reporting on an as needed basis.

Project and Stakeholder Management:

Support internal and supplier educational training on GHG accounting and other climate-related topics. Draft presentations and reports for internal use and external disclosures, translating complex data into actionable insights.

Facilitate engagement and collaboration with external partners, industry consortia, and other stakeholders in the development of GHG accounting practices and reductions. Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have: 5+ years of experience in environmental sustainability or GHG accounting. Masters in GHG Management and Accounting or related fields. Demonstrated expertise in GHG accounting, science-based targets, Net Zero roadmap development, supplier engagement and decarbonization solutions. Strong experience in quantitative analysis, including managing large datasets and building data models for environmental impacts (experience with tools like Alteryx, SQL, or R is a plus). Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet tight deadlines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on the ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, both internal and external to the company. Ability to translate technical data into visuals for leadership, and experience in the development of dashboards using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools. Experience developing different types of communication materials such as case studies, slide decks, reports, training modules, process and resource documents. Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends and how they link to business value. You are self-motivated, team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, innovative and work autonomously.
