Sr. Configuration Management Specialist - US Citizen

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking an experienced Senior Configuration Management Specialist for the Dept. Of Interior. This is a critical leadership role responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing configuration management processes within a large IT organization. This position ensures that configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and audits are effectively managed and aligned with organizational objectives. The role involves leading change management programs, ensuring the integrity of configuration data, and utilizing industry-standard tools to support network infrastructure and change processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Configuration Management:

Plan and enforce procedures for configuration identification, change control, and configuration audits. Maintain accurate and accessible documentation to support lifecycle management and version control.

Change Management Leadership:

Develop, lead, and execute change management programs tailored to large-scale IT environments. Regulate and ensure only approved and validated changes are incorporated into systems and networks.

Data Integrity & Documentation:

Ensure the integrity of change and configuration data. Prepare and deliver comprehensive presentations and briefings as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Support the Government ESN Change Advisory Board by reporting change implementations and updating project plans. Investigate Bureau change requests and provide actionable recommendations aligned with established practices.

Network Configuration Support:

Collaborate with performance management teams to evaluate network configurations pre- and post-implementation.

Training & User Support:

Train authorized personnel on change and configuration management tools. Provide first-level user support for tools used to interact with the ESN.

Tool Expertise:

Use and maintain change and configuration management software, specifically BMC Remedy, to track and document technical infrastructure changes.

Required Skills and Experience:

Expertise in IT network infrastructure, including wireless (Wi-Fi) networks, and familiarity with HP-Aruba and Cisco technologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Microsoft Intune. In-depth knowledge of requirements analysis and service requirements management. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing Office Level Agreements. Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver impactful briefings. ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred). Technical Expertise:

Installation and configuration of HP-Aruba wireless hardware and related technologies, such as:

ClearPass Policy Manager. Aruba Switching Solutions. Mobility Controllers. AirWave and other HP-Aruba products.

Hands-on experience with secure wireless networks and hardware/software integration. Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to lead change and configuration management programs in large-scale IT organizations. Familiarity with industry best practices for change and configuration management processes.
