We currently are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to support our Pediatric Telecommunications at our Kenmore location. This is a per diem position. This position has the ability to work remotely over time.
The Nurse Practitioner (MNA) Physician Assistant in our Call Center works collaboratively with a team of medical assistants and other advanced practice clinicians in a dynamic, collegial call center setting. Telephone calls can range from routine to emergent and may require prescription writing and interaction with an on-call MD. The NP has access to comprehensive patient information via our fully-integrated EMR system, Epic.
The Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner (MNA) must have graduated from a master's level state program and NLN approved NP program and possess state licensure to practice in the expanded role. PA must be a graduate of a State approved program for Physician Assistants. Possesses national certification and licensure as a PA in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. NP/PA must possess and maintain eligibility for DEA and Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration.
Skills and Experience: This role is not an entry level position; it requires experienced clinicians who can provide advice and reassurance for concerned parents calling during off shift hours. Minimum of 2 years of experience required and ambulatory experience is preferred. Strong triaging, excellent clear verbal communication, strong computer and proficient writing skills required. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and EPIC.
Must be able to work, evenings, weekends and holidays
