VP, BSA & AML Officer
The VP, BSA & AML Officer is responsible for administering and maintaining all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Program. The position is required to be knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of BSA/AML Compliance and be able to independently recognize, develop, and implement cost effective compliance related solutions for the BSA/AML program. The ideal candidate can effectively multitask and prioritize competing projects to meet deadlines, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintains proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and OFAC Supervises the BSA Analysts, ensuring that all monitoring, investigation, reporting and recordkeeping functions are performed in a timely manner. Acts as primary liaison with auditors and regulators related to the oversight of the BSA/AML program, including providing expertise, ensuring audit or exam information provided is accurate and timely, and serving as the subject matter expert. Ensures BSA/AML software is operating in a sufficient manner to analyze transactional records to detect suspicious activity. Conducts investigations and documents the findings for justification, whether the investigation results in the filing of a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) or not. Works with other departments to investigate transactions that are suspicious in nature as needed. Ensures the process of customer risk identification is adequate and timely and ensures the monitoring and tracking of BSA/AML high risk customers and accounts are performed timely and adequately. Performs regulatory research in response to department inquiries, projects and process changes. Responds timely to law enforcement requests. Prepares, or reviews the preparation of, timely filing and accuracy of SARs and their internal reporting in accordance with Bank policy Ensures the timely screening of the Bank’s customer base in response to FinCEN 314a requests as prescribed by regulation and the screening in response to all additions to Office of Foreign Asset sanction lists Oversees the preparation, timely filing and accuracy of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and maintains Currency Transaction Logs in compliance with Bank policy. Manages exempt person filings for Currency Transaction Reporting Serves as a resource relating to BSA/AML and assists all departments of the bank to maintain compliance with BSA regulations and best practices Oversee all reporting related to BSA including management reports, board reports, risk assessments, and similar documents Identifies fraud patterns and conducts investigations to deter fraudulent and suspicious activities. Works with Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Technology Officer to manage third party Fintech relationships regarding BSA/AML risks.
Qualifications:
Minimum of ten (10) years of prior financial institution BSA compliance experience in developing and implementing BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC policies, programs and procedures. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Problem solving skills. Good organizational skills. Must be able to maintain composure with difficult or irate customers. Promote a positive work environment. Must be detailed oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where changes to procedures are common. Ability to communicate in a respectful and assertive manner. Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines. Proven decision-making ability. Ability to input and interpret data. Ability to travel throughout the BayFirst footprint. Knowledge of Verafin BSA/AML and Fraud Monitoring software preferred

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience ACAMS Certified
