Environmental GIS Technician.
Position Purpose:
Provide support to the IEC Environmental Restoration GIS Lead in the preparation of maps and figures for inclusion in reports, plans, and other regulatory deliverables; assist in the development and maintenance of maps and GIS project data sets and performing GIS system maintenance and editing tasks.
Position Responsibilities: Preparation of maps and figures Development and maintenance of GIS datasets GIS system maintenance and editing Additional Comments:
Work will include initial badging and training, followed of onsite work with the IEC GIS Analyst. Remote work may be possible depending upon work conditions and establishment of remote access with approval from safeguards and security.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):
Four-year degree in GIS, geospatial technologies, or related field 2-4 years of experience using GIS in a professional setting Proficient in producing maps in Arc GIS Desktop and ARCGIS Pro Experience using a wide variety of GIS software tools Experience editing GIS data with a high degree of accuracy Must be a US Citizen for Security Clearance Special Requirements/Training (Optional);
Preferred Skills and Experience
Skills and experience with cartographic design Understanding of coordinate systems Ability to identify problems and work in a team environment to find solutions Able to work with established workflows and manage multiple tasks Use and knowledge of GPS and field surveying
