We want you to join our team! We are seeking a maintenance supervisor for our residential property located in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the community’s facilities, buildings, and grounds are in excellent condition. This role involves supervising a team of maintenance and janitorial staff, managing schedules, and responding to service requests. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of maintenance practices, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our .
Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Leadership: Oversee and coordinate the work of maintenance staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Maintenance Management: Ensure that all maintenance tasks, including preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs, are performed efficiently and to high standards.
- Pre and post move out inspections
- Unit move out/in turns
- Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage maintenance schedules, including routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades to community facilities and grounds.
- Service Requests: Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order additional supplies as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and community policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
- Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory usage.
- Coordination: Work closely with other departments, contractors, and vendors to facilitate maintenance and repair projects.
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Operations on capital budgets and capital projects.
- Relations: Foster positive relationships with by addressing concerns and providing exceptional service.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with , staff, and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
