Job Description
The Senior Director of Development oversees and executes a comprehensive fundraising
strategy at the McGaw YMCA, including the annual giving program, major gift portfolio, and
planned giving initiatives. This role will build relationships with donors, foster stewardship, and
drive revenue to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. The Senior
Director of Development collaborates closely with McGaw YMCA leadership to align efforts and
achieve fundraising goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, communications, or related field;
advanced degree or fundraising certification preferred (e.g., CFRE).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, with a proven track record in annual giving,
major gifts, and planned giving.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals and securing
significant gifts.
- Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and data-driven fundraising
strategies.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
Annual Giving Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive annual giving program, ensuring
alignment with organizational priorities, donor engagement goals, and a culture of
philanthropy across the organization.
- Work collaboratively with the development team and staff to design and implement impactful
campaigns that drive participation, grow revenue, and foster donor loyalty.
- Regularly analyze giving trends, leveraging data to identify opportunities for strategic
growth, enhanced donor retention, and long-term engagement.
