Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures the delivery of maintenance, reliability, and repeatability. They provide leadership and direction in maintenance enhancement needs with a significant focus on improving productivity and minimizing costs & waste while assuring highest levels of safety, quality, and performance. Direct or lead problem analysis for equipment related performance or quality concerns. Assist the Maintenance Manager in leading innovative projects to develop processes of recycling various metals or e-scrap. Proficiency with legacy and cutting-edge technologies to ensure that the Company is leveraging the most effective platforms for increased productivity, safety, and profitability. The Maintenance Supervisor works with the maintenance team and as a support liaison with engineering and operations teams.

Leadership

Oversees maintenance in coordinating activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating parts and tools in a machine shop. Directs maintenance team in installation of and modification for safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines, engaging and developing team members through effective performance management, coaching and training.
  • Achieves targets for equipment performance, monitor progress, and implement change management when necessary to achieve department and business unit targets. Schedule services and minor repairs to avoid down time. Work with Maintenance Manager and other department Supervisors on major repairs to minimize down time and cost. Actively manage work to strategically ensure equipment is available and ready based upon KPI's of equipment and/or department goals.
  • Actively review E.A.M., service sheets, and inspection reports to schedule necessary repairs.
  • Conducts, recommends, and continuously improves a detailed department-specific business plan ensuring all facility assets including production equipment, support equipment, and building, and grounds are properly maintained. This is done by effective scheduling of assigned, monitored, and measured corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with manager on requests and concerns to find the best solution aimed at improving safety, uptime and productivity. Manage maintenance budgets within established guidelines. Review, edit, and submit purchase orders. Consistently work with Maintenance Manager and Planner to build a functional, cost-effective inventory and supplies to keep production running.
  • Responsible for maintaining the facilities buildings and grounds in a cost-effective manner that creates a positive image to customers and the community.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in coordinating, overseeing, and reviewing the work of on-site contractors to ensure projects are installed in accordance with standards and specifications; local, state, and federal codes; and OSHA regulations.
  • Provide on and off-hour emergency support including equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed.
  • Ensure all jobs are executed safely to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with Wieland safety procedures and site safety personnel procedures.
Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience in progressively responsible management roles
  • Previous technical supervisory experience demonstrating effective management.
  • Experience with maintenance work order and inventory systems.
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience in recycling industry a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate projects between departments and planning a flow of tasks beginning to end.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate at any levels, including explanation of technical information to non-technical employees. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Flexible, assertive, stress-tolerant, and optimistic mindset, with a willingness to adapt to evolving project requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and walk while handling cases of product.
  • Have vision abilities to include proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to wear all required PPE associated with required tasks.
