Summary As a Program Element Manager with the Space Weather Program Office at Langley Research Center you will maintain office workflows and various kinds of data files, coordinate event and meeting activities, help setup and run in-person and Teams meetings, and help office staff prepare briefings and reports for the Space Weather community. You will work daily with experienced NASA scientists and staff to execute NASA's space weather-related research and analysis programs. Responsibilities Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Work directly with the Space Weather Program Manager to assist with office processes and procedures to facilitate optimally efficient and effect office goals. Assist with the programs, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support systems such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation. Support coordination efforts with national offices, organizations, staff, and international partners, such as the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and commercial entities. Interface externally with other NASA installations, state, local, and other federal entities, universities, and industries, to facilitate effective communication with the Program Office. Maintain control and storage of office programmatic information and data files. Ensures information is maintained in accordance with laws and regulations and is easily available to office staff when needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-11, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: Performing administrative tasks to support organizational projects or programs; Interfacing with stakeholders and assisting with administrative activities such as coordinating with various offices, confirming meeting agendas, scheduling conferences, etc.; Documenting or maintaining technical information/briefings in support of projects or programs. OR b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field OR c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field OR d) LL.M., if related OR e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Performing administrative functions in support of technical, scientific, or engineering based projects or programs; Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to perform administrative functions such as confirming meeting agendas, scheduling conferences, and/or coordinating visits across federal agencies, universities, or commercial entities; Coordinating project management processes and activities to support efficient execution of technical, scientific, or engineering activities.
