About the role:

This role provides leadership to Distribution Center (DC) Supervisors, guiding business objectives through Carrier Excellence (Cx) and continuous improvement tools. It also leads the Maintenance & Cx teams, streamlining processes and ensuring the flow of goods from supplier to customer. The successful candidate must identify and remove obstacles, seek improvement opportunities, and have strong attention to detail and integrity. This passionate leader will leverage best practices, foster employee engagement, and drive change with charismatic leadership, transparency, and communication. They will develop a maintenance associate training plan and coordinate projects and outages with all affected parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all site maintenance activities :

  • Ensure timely and flawless repairs and changes.

  • Plan and oversee all hourly maintenance associates.

  • Develop and support safety procedures and protocols.

  • Manage and improve the facility's operating system :

  • Focus on standard operating procedures, process documentation, and training materials.

  • Develop, maintain, and publish SOPs.

  • Provide SOP training and certification.

  • Audit operational practices against SOPs.

  • Ensure compliance with Carrier Excellence (Cx) tools :

  • Support administrative and operational processes to achieve and sustain Cx Gold certification.

  • Monitor Cx compliance of salaried employees.

  • Apply continuous improvement tools to address and eliminate warehouse issues.

  • Lead and support Cx in company-owned distribution centers.

  • Host Kaizen and Value Stream mapping events to address opportunities.

  • Perform/support A3 dives driven by Tier board, Dashboard, and other processes.

  • Lead/participate in teams, committees, and events for facility improvement :

  • Prepare training materials using SOPs and other process documentation.

  • Conduct Core process audits.

  • Drive and/or coach 6S audits and report outs for multiple sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School or GED.

  • 4+ years’ experience in one of the following environments: Warehousing Logistics, Distribution Center, or in Manufacturing.

  • 5+ years’ experience working with lean, six sigma manufacturing, or any related process to lean manufacturing.

  • 1+ year experience in people management with direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications: (assets)

  • Bachelor’s Degree of science or art.

  • Interest in learning about continuous improvement and maintenance functions.

  • Certified in Six Sigma.

  • Adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence multiple levels of the organization.

  • Ability to make logical and accurate decisions with available information.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and work across multiple teams.

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and integrated database systems.

  • Proven ability to manage both sustaining and strategic priorities effectively.

  • Technical knowledge or quick learning ability of the HVAC product industry.

  • Passionate about proactive problem-solving.

  • Strong leadership skills to drive improvement and challenge the status quo.
