The ideal candidate is passionate about machine learning, data engineering, and MLOps and will work closely with data scientists and other engineering teams to implement next-generation voice experiences for Amazon Customers.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer with a strong technical background, customer obsession, and bias for action with a track record of leading and delivering robust solutions quickly. In this role, you will:

1. Design, develop, and deploy scalable and highly available distributed systems for speech recognition and associated machine learning workflows.
2. Own and evolve the MLOps pipelines that power the training, evaluation, and deployment of our models.
3. Build robust quality monitoring and alerting systems to ensure reliable end-user experiences.
4. Collaborate closely with research scientists, product managers, and other engineering teams to drive the roadmap and deliver innovative voice capabilities.
5. Mentor more junior engineers and help grow the technical expertise of the team.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech technology, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language
4. 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
5. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
6. Expertise in software design, data modeling, and system architecture
7. Strong background in machine learning, data engineering, and MLOps
8. Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python and Java
9. Hands-on experience with modern Data Engineering and MLOps frameworks
