Job Description:

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies, and components. We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse & Shipping Manager to lead and optimize the warehouse and shipping operations at Albany Engineered Composites. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials, components, and finished products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with aerospace industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Tooling Warehouse Operations:

  1. Oversee all physical Tooling warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, movement, and staging.
  2. Implement lean principles and best practices to optimize space utilization, tooling inventory accuracy, and tooling handling efficiency.
  3. Establish and enforce protocols for tooling traceability and inventory control to meet aerospace industry standards.

Shipping & Expediting:

  1. Manage the outbound shipping process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers and suppliers.
  2. Collaborate with freight carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to streamline transportation and export compliance.
  3. Monitor and optimize shipping schedules to meet customer demands and minimize delays.
  4. Standardize Shipping & Expediting standard work.
  5. Establish KPI’s that show visible success metrics and baseline for measuring continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Management:

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse and shipping personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, positivity, and continuous improvement.
  2. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support staff training to enhance team capabilities.

Safety & Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ITAR, and other relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and training to mitigate risks and promote best practices.

Process Improvement:

  1. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
  2. Lead initiatives to enhance Safety, Quality, On Time Delivery, efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.

Collaboration:

  1. Partner with internal customers including but not limited to planning, inventory, production, quality, procurement, and program teams to align warehouse and shipping activities with organizational goals.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for resolving tooling warehouse and shipping-related issues.
  3. Partner with internal Tooling planner and AEC property manager, to ensure tooling compliance and customer expectations are maintained with the storage & handling of tooling.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  2. 5 years of experience in operations management, warehouse, and/or shipping management, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  3. Proven track record of leading and cultivating a team that is responsible for the management of complex operational processes.

Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software preferred.
  2. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  3. Leadership skills with a focus on team engagement and performance improvement.
  4. Analytical mindset with a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
  5. Strong communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.

Certifications:

  1. Forklift and hazardous material handling certifications preferred.
