Tellworks, a growing 3PL provider, is currently seeking associates in our Sparks, NV warehouse.   

The continued growth of Tellworks has created the need for a Facilities/ MHE Maintenance Technician ready to hit the ground running and perform a range of duties including routine facility maintenance, minor equipment repairs, and conveyor preventative maintenance in accordance with all safety standards. Works with and assists contractors to complete projects or complex repairs. The individual in this position must be capable of performing all the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.  

Overview

The Maintenance Manager supervises operations of the Maintenance Department to ensure that equipment and facilities are in good condition to minimize downtime, meet production deadlines and maintain product quality. This includes developing preventive maintenance programs, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safety by being highly diligent with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, ensuring the team follows company policies and procedures, and inspecting machinery and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Facilitate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance outages and repairs, implements/oversees preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and pre-qualifies contractors for equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation/removal of machines, tools, and equipment; and ensuring that maintenance and repair work is completed correctly, efficiently, and on time.
  • Evaluating systems and facilities, developing maintenance procedures and schedules, reviewing and recommending modifications to maintenance equipment and processes, and overseeing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Reviewing work orders to determine priorities, responding to maintenance requests and escalating issues to management (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic) as needed.
  • Reviewing new equipment plans and discussing equipment needs and modifications.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High level of experience with scanner technology, sensors, hydraulics, conveyors, belts.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints for existing equipment and to implement new equipment required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40-pounds, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights as need.
  • Must be able to work for long periods under a wide range of conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to implement/manage a Maintenance Work-Order-System.
  • Hands-on ability and willingness to troubleshoot and perform mechanical work.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC, HMI, and VFD drives.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience supervising in a manufacturing maintenance department with hourly direct reports required.
  • Strong aptitude for equipment technology troubleshooting and repair.
  • Six Sigma Lean Yellow Belt experience desired.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to move about the warehouse to access product, machinery and assist others. 
  • Must be able to move and place cartons on pallets weighing up to 60 pounds.  
  • Must be able to bend downward using legs at knee.
