Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated DWBI Developer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Data Warehouse (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support data analysis, reporting, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and BI tools, combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
This position requires a local candidate with 3 days of on-site working at our Chicago office (120 S. LaSalle St, Chicago IL 60603).
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Warehouse Development: Design and implement data warehouse architectures and solutions that support operational reporting and data analysis.
- ETL Development: Create and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple source systems into the data warehouse.
- Business Intelligence Solutions: Develop and deploy BI solutions using tools such as Cognos Analytics, SSRS, or other reporting platforms. Ensure the availability of meaningful and actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Data Modeling: Design and maintain data models, schemas, and database objects to ensure optimal performance and efficient querying.
- Data Quality Assurance: Monitor data quality and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring accurate and consistent data across the warehouse and BI systems.
- Report Development: Build and optimize complex reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for business users to support decision-making.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, and other technical teams to understand data requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Performance Tuning: Continuously assess and improve the performance of ETL processes, data warehouse queries, and BI reports.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for all BI and data warehousing processes, including data flow diagrams, code documentation, and system configurations.
- Training: Provide training and support to end-users for BI Tools and solutions; including developing user guides and best practices.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide support to end-users and address issues related to data, reporting, and BI tools.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, or ETL development.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience with ETL tools (e.g., SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Talend, Informatica).
- Experience with data modeling techniques and database design.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, optimizing, and managing relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Cognos Analytics, SSRS, etc.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, OLAP).
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality management best practices.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering solutions that meet business needs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database, SSIS, SSRS, IBM Framework Manager, Cognos Data Modules/Data Sets, and/or Cognos Analytics
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of data integration techniques and technologies (APIs, web services).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies/tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira).
- Experience with Real Estate, Mortgage, and/or Title industry knowledge
