We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing top-notch patient care and supporting the dental team in delivering excellent oral health services. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including preparing materials and instruments.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and well-informed before, during, and after dental treatments.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Take and process dental X-rays and ensure proper patient positioning and safety.
- Perform preliminary patient screenings and document medical history and vital signs.
- Apply topical anesthetics, sealants, or fluoride under the dentist’s supervision, if certified.
Administrative Duties
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient office workflow.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Manage inventory by ordering and restocking dental supplies as needed.
- Handle billing, insurance claims, and payment collection, if required.
Patient Interaction
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Address patient concerns and provide reassurance during procedures.
- Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all patients.
Office Management
- Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and hygienic office environment by adhering to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate with the dental team to manage day-to-day operations efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in dental assisting are a plus.
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (state-dependent).
- Proficiency in dental software and office management tools.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital radiography and other dental technologies.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and chairside assisting techniques.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
