Our Office:

We are a beautiful privately owned office in Rancho Bernardo. Our patient base is incredibly friendly and is treated like family. We focus on high quality dentistry in a friendly and efficient environment. Our services include crowns, fillings, root canals, implants, and sedation. No medical or HMO.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dental team as a Dental Assistant. Experience is preferred, but no prior experience in dental assisting is required, as we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and develop new skills. As a Dental Assistant, you will support our team of dentists and hygienists, help create a positive experience for our patients, and assist in a variety of tasks to ensure smooth and efficient dental operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Patient Care:

    • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready and properly sterilized.
    • Support the dentist during patient exams and procedures, including handing instruments, suctioning, and offering comfort to patients.
    • Position and prepare patients for treatment, and explain procedures to help reduce patient anxiety.
  • X-rays & Diagnostics:

    • Take and develop diagnostic X-rays (after training and as permitted by state regulations).
    • Update and maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment details.
  • Sterilization & Infection Control:

    • Follow infection control protocols and safety standards to maintain a clean, sterile, and safe environment for patients and staff.
    • Sterilize dental instruments and clean treatment areas between patients.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Schedule patient appointments, manage patient flow, and assist with patient intake as needed.
    • Help with basic office tasks, such as filing patient charts, processing billing, and insurance forms.
  • Patient Education & Support:

    • Provide patients with basic post-treatment care instructions and promote good oral hygiene practices.
    • Answer questions and support patients in a friendly, caring manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Completion of a dental assisting program is a plus but not required; we are happy to provide on-the-job training.
  • Skills and Traits:

    • Strong desire to learn and develop new skills in the dental field.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude.
    • High attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
    • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic knowledge of office tools (computer, phone, etc.) is helpful.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
    • Dexterity to handle dental instruments and equipment.
