Pay: $20

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm greeting and escort patients of all ages to the appropriate operatory
  • Prepare instrument cassettes and set up materials for the procedures to be performed
  • Perform sterilization of contaminated dental instruments after appropriate training and follow standards of infection control protocol
  • Make accurate alginate impressions which are to be poured into diagnostic models
  • Make accurate and clear dental images including but not limited to: bitewings, periapicals, panoramic x-rays, CBCT, and intraoral photographs
  • Assisting procedures that include but are not limited to: fixed and removable prosthodontics, esthetic and non-esthetic direct restorations, oral surgery, & endodontics.
  • Provide assistance, when necessary, to other members of the dental team
  • The ability to briefly explain dental procedures and answer basic questions about treatment planning to the patient
  • Assist office personnel in times of patient health emergencies
  • Willingness to learn new technologies (impression scanning, digital restoration design, etc.)
  • Stay on task during and in between appointments
  • Our office highly values a passion and willingness to learn on the job
  • Dental assistants are highly encouraged to participate in continuing education courses with dentists and the team
  • Knowledge of Dental Software is a plus but not required

Education or Prior Experience

  • Completion of an ADAA dental assistance program
  • 2+ years chairside experience
  • Demonstrated willingness to actively learn and undergo training may serve as substitution for previous experience
