The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has outstanding opportunities for temporary, Phlebotomists. In this role you will rotate between inpatient and outpatient areas performing Phlebotomy on patients of all ages. You will prioritize to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role will also assist with quality assurance, maintenance of equipment, orientation and training of students and new employees, education, communications with nursing units, patients and the physician staff as it relates to laboratory services.

WORK SCHEDULE

Day Shift

Part-time

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation AND completion of a phlebotomy course

OR

Equivalent education/experience

Legal Requirement: Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with the Washington State Department of Health, OR obtain the MA-P within 60 days of start date.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare patient and collection equipment.

Perform phlebotomy on patients.

Instruct patients on proper collection of urine specimens.

Perform laboratory-testing procedures.

Interact with patients, their families, departmental and hospital staff.

Perform related duties as required.
