Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on our lab staff to help determine what is happening with our patients. They are a vital key to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Education/Licensure:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
1 year lab experience preferred

Some of what you will do:
- Obtain blood specimens by capillary puncture or venipuncture using appropriate technique.
- Correctly identifies patient per written protocol and properly labels specimens accurately and completely while maintaining the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
- Exercises judgment in determining work priority. Interacts with nursing units to ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies.
- Disposes of contaminated lab supplies and handles all lab specimens regarding potential health hazards according to written procedures.
- Receives laboratory specimens orders tests processes specimens using the centrifuge and
- Distributes specimens to appropriate testing areas communicating special instructions.
- Maintains professional attitude with patients visitors hospital staff and fellow employees while assuring the confidentiality of all hospital information. Discusses problems in a professional adult and calm manner.
- Maintains and operates test systems for optimal performance; collaborates with tech or technician to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure:
