Supervisor phlebotomy performs computer data entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties, 2) Supervisor phlebotomy possesses adequate knowledge of the terminology of tests ordered in the laboratory, 3) Supervisor phlebotomy demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique and the use of equipment in collecting specimens from newborns to geriatric patients, 4) Supervisor phlebotomy processes microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank specimens, 5) Supervisor phlebotomy processes specimens for referral to reference laboratories, 6) stocks and orders routine supplies, 7) maintains the cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers and work areas, 8) processes or loads specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation in accordance with established policy and procedures, 9) performs annual staff performance evaluations 10) provides staff training and orientation, 11) evaluates and ensures staff competency, 12) ensures staff compliance with all regulatory requirements, 13) develops and maintains policies and procedures appropriate to the department, 14) ensures staff compliance with all laboratory and hospital policies 15) provides for a safe work environment in evaluating and implementing PPE and other safety phlebotomy devices, 16) Actively participates in the collection and evaluation of QA data for the development of Performance Improvement initiatives, 17) May assist to Pick up samples at hospital/ OR, assist lab specialty in sorting out samples for analysis and put away samples, assist pathology, inventory, replenish supplies, order supplies, mail pick up/ delivery, faxing, answering phone, product deliveries, etc..17) other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director. 18) May perform CLIA waived testing after completing training and competency.

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current required.
2. Minimum 3 years clinical laboratory experience required.
3. Minimum 1 year previous supervisory/management experience required.
4. OSHA/DOT/IATA certification for diagnostic specimen packaging and shipping one time every 3 years and maintain updated preferred.
5. Current and valid state Certification as a CPT I or CPT II or ASCP certification preferred.
