We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Scheduler in Santa Monica, California. The role is within the healthcare industry, where the selected candidate will be responsible for handling administrative tasks, particularly in a cancer center setting. Key functions of this role include processing patient appointments, maintaining comprehensive patient records, and addressing patient inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently manage the scheduling of appointments for patients.
• Accurately maintain and update patient records.
• Handle and resolve patient inquiries in a timely manner.
• Obtain authorizations from insurance companies for cancer imaging and surgeries.
• Verify insurance coverage for cancer-related procedures.
• Liaise with insurance companies and patients regarding authorizations and coverage.
• Facilitate checkout procedures for patients post-visit.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient checkouts.
• Ensure accurate processing of patient credit applications.• Proficiency in Administrative Assistance, with a keen understanding of office management and daily operations
• Familiarity with Medical Insurance Verification processes, able to validate patient coverage accurately and efficiently
• Experience in Patient Scheduling, adept at coordinating appointments and managing patient calendars
• Knowledge of Surgery Scheduling, capable of coordinating surgical appointments and liaising between doctors, patients, and insurance companies
