**It's more than a career, it's a calling.** WI-Agnesian Health Plaza Bldg B **Worker Type:** Regular **Job Summary:** Provides direct or indirect care to a varying number of patients and performs various functions associated with hemodialysis treatments independently and under the direction of a registered nurse. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Prepares patients for procedures by taking vital statistics and reviewing dialysis orders and lab work. + Sets up and monitors equipment for procedures both during and after. + Notes and documents patient's condition during procedure via observation, interview and monitoring of vital statistics; reports abnormal assessment findings. + Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. + Obtains, processes and transports blood samples and culture specimens as ordered. + Demonstrates proficiency in performing dialysis treatments and in cannulation of vascular access. + Monitors and trouble shoots dialysis machine and RO/water system. + Participates in quality improvement activities to include collection of data and machine maintenance. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned.
