Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Technician is responsible for responding to service calls and performing maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctioning systems. Provide excellent customer service. Identify and diagnose problems and assess the extent of the repairs to describe cost and options to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform hot and cold compressor and motor alignments.
Repair and maintain reciprocating, scroll, rotary, and screw compressors.
Troubleshoot systems and test components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic test equipment.
Travel to job sites and respond to service calls.
Develop and foster customer relationships.
Compressor rebuilds and shaft seal replacements.
Install expansion and control valves.
Use OxyAcetlyene torch set to repair and install equipment.
Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source.
Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
Commissioning/start-up of ammonia and synthetic refrigeration systems and components.
Troubleshoot computerized refrigeration control panels and microprocessors.
Maintain customer sensitive information confidential.
Gather information for customer proposals/complete proposals in a timely manner.
Take ownership of projects and complete them in a timely manner.
Stay on a job until completion rather than end of shift, order materials, and organize with customers/team members until completion.
Daily completion of work orders on a mobile app.
Collect all work orders/paperwork signatures prior to leaving the customer’s job site.
Must complete daily timecards.
Generate PO numbers for truck stock or job-related purchases.
Keep work truck properly stocked, cleaned, maintained, and organized.
Maintain RETA license and all RETA requirements current.
Maintain Universal EPA license and all EPA requirements current.
Additional requirements as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in the field, driving a company vehicle.
Involves: long periods of sitting, standing lifting, and constant communication with team members.
This position routinely uses propane, ammonia, various cleaners, and synthetic refrigerants.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift or move 75 LBS.
Stand, walk, lift, and carry materials for extended periods of time.
Work an “uncontrolled schedule” as needed to meet customer needs.
CERTIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Universal EPA Certification
RETA CIRO Certification (not required upon hiring, but must obtain within first three months)
Excellent driving record (must consent to DMV Pull Notice Program)
