Volt is immediately hiring for an Inventory and Receiving Clerk in Tulare, CA
As an Inventory and Receiving clerk you will:
- Conduct regular inventory counts in the shop and trucks to maintain accuracy.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments to ensure they match purchase orders and are in excellent condition.
- Keep the shop clean and organized for a safe and efficient workspace.
- Accurately label parts for proper identification and storage.
- Organize shelves with proper labels to streamline inventory access.
- Assist in quickly retrieving and delivering parts as needed for operations.
- Coordinate and deliver parts to trucks or specific job sites as required.
- Support the team with additional tasks or duties during slower periods.
- Keep the inventory system accurate and up to date by recording stock levels, conducting counts, and organizing items in the warehouse.
- Ensure customers and other facilities get their orders on time by preparing shipping documents and coordinating shipments.
- Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing goods and keep a clean, organized workspace.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure all materials and products are where they need to be.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Must be thorough and accurate when inspecting shipments, recording inventory, and labeling items.
- Proven ability to maintain a clean and well-organized workspace and inventory system.
- Capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs. and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams.
- Clear verbal and written communication to interact with vendors, drivers, and internal teams.
- The ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently, even in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and systems
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- 1-2 years of experience in inventory management, receiving, or warehouse operations (preferred).
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing documentation such as packing slips or bills of landing.
- Familiarity with forklifts and other warehouse equipment is a plus (forklift certification is desirable).
