Position: R&D Engineer II

Openings: 2

Duration: 6 month contract

Shift: 8-4:30pm M-F ONSITE

PR: $33.85 - 43.23 /hour

Desired Start Date: 1/6/2025

Location: Minnetonka, MN

Day to Day/Core Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

Develops products, materials, processes, or equipment for moderately complex projects. Under limited supervision, compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for new or modified products, processes, and materials.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Actively participates in and contributes to project teams, including activities such as product design and development, material testing, specification preparation, process capability studies, research investigations (animal and clinical studies), report preparation, and process/test documentation.
  2. Independently plans and schedules activities to meet project timelines.
  3. Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
  4. Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.
  5. Troubleshoots new product/process issues related to design, material, or process.
  6. Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
  7. Prepares standard reports and documentation to communicate results to the technical community.
  8. Manages engineering documentation.
  9. Creates concepts and designs for new products/processes and submits idea disclosures.
  10. May train or provide work direction to technicians.
  11. Collaborates with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure project success.
  12. Demonstrates knowledge of PDP/TPD systems through high-quality deliverables.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree

• Product development experience

• Product design experience

• R&D testing experience

• Troubleshooting background

Plusses:

• Medical device or related field experience

• PDP / TPD knowledge
