Job Description
Southern Construction Staffing is currently seeking qualified commercial electricians for summer projects to include schools, multi purposes, commercial spaces and high rises. These projects are located within Tampa and surrounding areas. Pay is based on verifiable experience and certifications such as a JM License or JLA Badge. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout, placement, and installation requirements for electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
Perform electrical wiring and connections for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including installing conduits, cables, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers.
Conduct inspections, tests, and diagnostics to identify electrical problems and troubleshoot issues, ensuring proper functioning and safety of electrical systems.
Make necessary repairs or replacements to faulty or damaged electrical components.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with other team members, including apprentices and helpers, to complete projects efficiently and within established timelines.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentice electricians, assisting them in their training and development.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes to electrical codes and regulations.
Requirements:
Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification a plus.
Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician, typically 5+ years.
Thorough understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve electrical issues.
Excellent knowledge of local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong collaboration skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate installation and documentation.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, clients, and contractors.
