We are currently hiring an Operations and Maintenance Facilities Technician in our multi-facilities in Coral Gables, Florida! This individual will be responsible for scheduling and completing repair requests made through the Facilities work order system, preventive maintenance, and managing O&M vendors. With a focus on customer service and maintaining an exceptional workplace experience for our employees. Your technical expertise will play a vital role in preserving the overall functionality and aesthetics of our facilities.
Title: Operations and Maintenance Facilities Technician
Location: Alhambra Pl Coral Gables, FL 90026
Hours: 40hrs a week, traditional business hours. TEKsystems pays weekly, with the option for direct deposit every Thursday.
Duration: Long-term W2 contract with TEKsystems, initially 11 month(s) with intent to extend yearly.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of vendor relationships for the UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source/System) including scheduling, servicing, and working with account reps for North America and LATAM
- Partner with site services to maintain relationships with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing vendors
- Communicate effectively and provide direction to contractors as well as internal clients.
- Developing the scope of various O&M projects, budget, collecting quotes, timeline, access coordination, construction, commissioning, and timely communication with all parties.
- Pulling reports from ticketing system, tracking data in excel and utilizing facilities management software.
- Ability to coordinate project design and engineering efforts with construction teams and internal clients, including in-house IT and Security teams.

Day to Day:
- Capable of performing preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC and other infrastructure systems.
- Wide experience in performing a variety of HVAC, minor electrical, plumbing, and building repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of all facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks in a timely manner, minimizing disruptions to daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory management.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly, work autonomously, approach tasks with a sense of urgency, and address any issues that arise during business hours.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of the impact facilities work will have to the customer and can make repairs or recommendations for solutions or alternatives.
- Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- Uphold safety standards and protocols, promoting a secure and hazard-free workplace for all.
- A willingness to provide on-call support in case of emergencies or other off-hours issues.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Preferred 5+ years of hands-on experience working in a fast-paced multi-facility corporate environment, with a focus on providing the best in class service as an O&M Facilities Technician
- A substantial understanding of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life and safety systems, a primarily knowledgeable in mechanical (HVAC) preferred
- A skilled understanding of the proper use of common hand tools
- A good understanding of the use of specialized tools and test equipment
- A good understanding in the use of computer tools such as productivity software, BMS systems, e-mail, and databases
- Good verbal and written business communication
Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Documented proof of some basic technical training in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing concepts from an approved accredited institution or union apprenticeship school.
