GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Shipping and Receiving plays a crucial role in the logistics operations of the Toyota Center, ensuring the efficient handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. This position supports the team, facilities, and merchandise operations by managing the movement of equipment, supplies, and products. Under the direction of the Arena Operations Director and Facility Manager, performs duties related to receiving and shipping merchandise and equipment in and out of Toyota Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • Receive shipments, checks and signs delivery slips, and assist with unloading as necessary.
  • Verifies the quantity and condition of items against supporting documents; accepts or returns shipments according to established procedures.
  • Completes shipping & receiving log forms and maintains the log as shipments are picked up or dropped off.
  • Organizes distribution of shipments and merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, prepares the merchandise and moves to the appropriate area.
  • Coordinate notification and pick up of deliveries by contacting individuals or departments. Ensures shipments are picked up in a timely manner.
  • Participates in taking inventory. Maintain storage area, organize and places stock on shelves. Ensures the area is always secure.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly project work.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed according to Toyota Center's exemplary standards.
  • Complete regular building inspections to ensure it remains in a presentable and safe state for clients and guests.
  • Clearly communicate with staff (Full and Part-time) to assure a high morale and positive work environment.
  • Attend yearly work-related training sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, especially Supervisors/Managers.
  • Develop and implement efficiencies and improvements on an ongoing basis for the Facility Services department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1 year of Shipping & Receiving, Arena, or Event related experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work long and varied hours including nights and weekends.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be very organized, flexible, personable, and able to take direction.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to lift, transfer and move items as heavy as 40 pounds for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed considering the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
