The Data Analyst works in a predominantly independent work environment to perform data analysis and reports for various community college initiatives. The individual in this position is responsible for data compilation, analysis, and report preparation for various initiatives, including RSVP, SNAP 50/50, partner research grants, and career coaching programs. The individual in this position provides support to the Lead Policy and Data Analyst in completing required Workforce Credentials Grant (WCG) SCHEV reporting, as well as supporting researcher and VCCS leadership data requests. Responsibilities include extracting data from case management and student information systems, matching administrative records across large datasets, facilitating the development and approval of data-sharing agreements, creating reports based on strategic goals and programmatic needs, data cleansing to ensure reporting consistency, reviewing policies and procedures, and explaining data implications to stakeholders. The professional in this position uses virtual platforms, including Zoom, Teams, and Outlook, to support program leads, data analysts, and community college staff in their various reporting needs Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications * Knowledge of standard statistical procedures and research methods, including those related to sampling, projections, significance, and distributions. * Ability to plan, research, and analyze. * Skill in the use of statistical packages (SAS strongly preferred). * Knowledge of principles and practices used in the development and implementation of survey instruments and techniques. * Skill in a variety of software applications, including word processing, advanced spreadsheet, database management applications, and Google applications. * Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive research design and methods with specific timelines. * Ability to access, download, consolidate, and analyze data from data systems. * Ability to compile data and prepare and present administrative, analytical, and technical reports and recommendations. * Knowledge of principles and procedures of complex data collection, coding, management, and reporting. * Ability to communicate orally and in writing. * Ability to work effectively with team members. * Ability to independently exercise initiative in developing and presenting data. * Skill in using virtual presentation platforms.

* Experience with statistical packages. * Two years of increasingly responsible job experience in the collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation of research data. Additional Considerations
* Skill in online survey development and analysis. * Knowledge of workforce development, labor market information, higher education institutional research, institutional effectiveness, or business analytics/intelligence. * Skill in use of SharePoint.

* Bachelor's degree from a college or university with coursework in statistics, data science, economics, business intelligence, or policy, planning, and evaluation. * SAS programming experience. * SQL experience.
