Data Analyst

Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in the restaurant industry and a strong analytical background. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions, improve performance, and enhance operational efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of restaurant metrics and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner to support strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, process, and analyze operational data from various sources, including sales, customer behavior, inventory, and labor costs, to provide insights into business performance.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales trends, food cost percentages, labor costs, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Trend Analysis & Forecasting: Identify trends and patterns in operational data, and assist in forecasting future performance based on historical data. Provide recommendations for improvements based on analysis.
• Operational Efficiency: Analyze operational processes to identify inefficiencies and provide data-driven solutions to optimize restaurant performance, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
• Support Strategic Decisions: Provide key data insights to support strategic decision-making, such as menu pricing, inventory management, staffing, and marketing initiatives.
• Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, finance) to align data insights with business objectives and operational goals.
• Data Integrity & Quality: Ensure data integrity and consistency across all systems, and troubleshoot data discrepancies to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
• Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required by the leadership team to address specific business needs.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on the restaurant industry or hospitality sector.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with restaurant-specific metrics, including sales data, labor costs, food costs, and customer satisfaction.
• Experience working with POS systems and restaurant management software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret large sets of data to drive business decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data in a clear, actionable format for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
