Position: Warehouse Operations Manager – Event Production

Position Summary:
As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will lead the operational and logistical functions of our warehouse, overseeing inventory management, client assets, logistics, and event-specific planning. This hands-on role blends leadership with active participation in day-to-day operations, requiring a manager who can both guide a team and contribute directly to warehouse workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Flex Inventory Management Software, with a focus on rental inventory and client assets.
- Establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals for warehouse staff and management.
- Enforce safety protocols and operational best practices to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Continuously assess and improve workflows, policies, and warehouse efficiency.
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and hazard-free; address repairs promptly.
- Serve as a point of escalation for resolving operational issues and discrepancies.
Logistics & Event Support:
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating scheduling and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with vendors and production teams to handle cross-rental orders and meet event-specific needs.
- Schedule and manage temporary labor for event setup, ensuring sufficient manpower for each project.
- Prepare and present estimates for labor, trucks, and cross-rentals, ensuring they align with project budgets and timelines.
- Oversee loading and unloading processes, ensuring proper tracking of rental equipment and inspecting for damage.
- Coordinate the storage and retrieval of client-owned assets to support event timelines.
Hands-On Contribution:
- Actively participate in warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving, inventory management, and equipment preparation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges on the ground as they arise.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and implement training programs to ensure all team members are aligned with operational procedures.
- Monitor team performance, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure deadlines are met consistently.
- Advocate for and implement operational improvements, driving team buy-in and policy adoption.
Financial & Administrative Oversight:
- Oversee inventory schedules and processes, ensuring accurate reporting and tracking.
- Create and manage purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor inbound shipments and communicate updates to relevant teams.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, particularly in freight and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in warehouse or logistics management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software (Flex preferred).
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate teams while actively participating in warehouse operations.
- Certifications: Forklift and reach truck certification required.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of inventory and rental management fundamentals and workflow logic. Familiarity with Kaizen and Kanban methodologies is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various noisy environments during events.
