Alamance Foods is seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Senior Warehouse Manager to oversee and enhance the end-to-end operations of our warehouse facilities. Reporting directly to the Operations team, this role is pivotal in optimizing both dry and cold storage areas. The ideal candidate will bring technical, strategic, and analytical expertise to develop efficient processes and drive high standards of performance across the warehouse.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations and Leadership:
- Develop and implement optimal workflows and procedures for both dry and cool storage areas.
- Strategically place products within the warehouse for efficiency and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Ensure accurate receiving, processing, and dispatching of products to meet customer timelines.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of all delivery vehicles to prevent product damage and maintain quality.
- Conduct monthly inventory audits, reconciliations, and maintain balanced inventory records.
- Oversee and enforce warehouse safety standards, including proper handling and storage protocols, to minimize pilferage, accidents, and occupational hazards.
- Collaborate on developing distribution center (DC) strategies.
Management of People and Processes:
- Manage and lead a team, including managers overseeing frontline staff. Ensure alignment with Alamance Foods’ values and operational goals.
- Set up reporting structures, clarify roles and responsibilities, and provide training and development to build a high-performing team.
- Ensure continuous operational excellence, maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment for warehouse, office, driver, and sales teams.
- Oversee all inbound and outbound transportation logistics, ensuring timely, accurate dispatch.
- Act as the go-to leader to address operational issues, stepping in as needed during nights or weekends.
Reporting and Systems Management:
- Develop and implement warehouse and inventory monitoring systems for better tracking and control.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on inventory levels, P&L, and any resolved issues to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and support new initiatives.
Customer and Office Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and ensure high-level customer service in all warehouse interactions.
- Oversee office-based tasks, including cash handling, computer operations, and related administrative functions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7+ years of managerial experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar field.
- Strong technical and analytical skills to develop and refine warehouse processes.
- Familiarity with managing both cool and dry storage facilities, with experience in manufacturing and warehousing.
- Proven leadership capabilities, particularly in managing and motivating managers and large teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-focused warehouse environment.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive in problem-solving.
