The Role

You will be contributing to the company’s plan by always looking for ways to improve technician efficiency by having the proper truck stock, limited warehouse stock outs, accurate inventory counts, and efficient part runner dispatching. You will ensure that we are able to accomplish our growth plans by having new vehicles onsite and ready for new staff as they come onboard. You will ensure that our vendor relationships are strong and a win for both parties. You will manage staff and drive them to maintain a safe and accountable workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of Service Titan for inventory management
  • Negotiate vendor pricing
  • Buyback program for excess inventory, as needed
  • Manage process for accountability of techs for truck inventory
  • Manage the truck stocking/bin layout mapping
  • Optimize parts request process
  • Asset tracking (tools and vehicles) – tying to depreciation schedule
  • Maintain up to date material pricing in Service Titan
  • Manage the vehicle procurement and disposal process
  • Use knowledge of supply house product offering, best price, strengths and locations to maximize efficiency and save the company money
  • Create annual budget, control expenses and meet or exceed plan
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure that accuracy and safety goals are met

Purchasing

  • Manage material return process
  • Manage warranty return process
  • Manage process to return excess materials from jobs
  • Manage purchase order process and material receiving process
  • Assist in product and material research for technicians
  • Manage next day installs and installs in general, with regards to material and equipment staging and materials fulfillment

Fleet/Truck Stock

  • Manage truck inventory cycle count and full count process
  • Manage new truck inventory set up process
  • Manage truck replenishment process
  • Manage staff fielding calls from tech/install crews on materials needed for jobs. Facilitating the best place to source and use warehouse staff to deliver. Then coordinate deliveries to and from job sites
  • Vehicle maintenance – tracking, scheduling, maintenance, and repairs

Tools

  • Manage tool maintenance and repairs
  • Manage tool and equipment check in/out process

Warehouse/Safety

  • Ensures warehouse is neat & clean
  • Manage warehouse inventory process for full and cycle counts
  • Manage warehouse replenishment process
  • Conduct regular safety training and safety inspections. Manage tech PPE, and overall safety within the warehouse
Competencies for Success
  • You should have experience in supply chain, operations, and inventory management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter/resourceful - able to independently work, learn and plan with minimal guidance to drive tasks to conclusion
  • Experience with inventory management software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with different company departments
  • The ability to understand and drive key performance indicators
  • Capable of learning on the fly with a focus on problem-solving
  • A self-motivated leader who is accountable for one’s work
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when dealing with data
  • High degree of action orientation and strong negotiation skills
