Receptionist - Kearny Mesa Hyundai
Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Receptionist greets customers when they come into the dealership's showroom, answers their questions, and directs them to the appropriate staff member. The Receptionist also answers all incoming calls, takes messages, and transfers callers to the appropriate department. The Receptionist should be familiar with vehicle models and personnel within the dealership with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Essential Functions:
- Greeting the showroom customers and assisting them by providing the information needed or referring them to the correct staff member.
- Receives mail, documents, packages, and distributes items to other staff members.
- Operating the telephone switchboard by answering incoming calls, transferring callers to appropriate personnel, taking messages, and using the paging system.
- Documenting customers who come into the dealership, noting basic demographic information and contact information.
- Stocking supplies for the showroom and other facilities.
- Performing general administrative duties, maintaining the lobby or reception area.
- Assists with conducting inventory, basic filing and record keeping.
- Assigned additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and administrative experience
- Ability to remain organized and keep track of all incoming calls and visitors and have good communication skills, as they are usually the first person a customer interacts with in a dealership.
- Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly stands, walks, sits; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks and hears. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; lifts up to 15 pounds.
- Physical ability to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time
Environment/Noise:
- Noise level is moderate.
