The Dougherty County Public Works Department has a vacancy for a Heavy Equipment Operator I.
Essential Tasks
Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to; maintenance of grounds, buildings, and roads, performs minor preventative maintenance; operates heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, earth movers, dump trucks, motor graders, drag-line cranes, front-end loaders and/or tractors in a safe and responsible manner; clears and prepares landscapes for forging of manholes, building new roads, pipe laying, and other construction projects; Constructs roads with crew members by cutting slopes, pulling ditches, laying blue top on road, clipping shoulders, and maintaining right-of-way.
Minimum Qualification
High school diploma or GED, with one (1) year of training in the use of equipment listed above which shows the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
