Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a variety of equipment including excavators, rollers, loaders, dozers, skidsteers, etc. on construction projects including but not limited to heavy highway, airports, bridges, landfill remediation, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operates various equipment including excavators, rollers, loaders, dozers, skidsteers, etc. on a variety of construction projects including but not limited to heavy highway, airports, bridges, landfill remediation, etc.
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on equipment such as checking oil, water, and tires.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Maintains a clean and secure jobsite
- Demonstrates adherence to Rifenburg Safety Rules, Regulations, and internal procedures.
- Demonstrates adherence to Rifenburg core values to foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
This position requires extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operations within the construction industry, or similar role. 5-10 years experience required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities; including GPS
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excellent communication skills with a willingness to lead, follow, or share instruction.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
