This position is skilled in diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment operated at the Coeur d'Alene Airport. Employees occupying this position are responsible for maintaining a largely diversified fleet of equipment and facilities in continuous serviceable and capable condition with limited down time. The Mission of the Coeur d' Alene Airport is to create and maintain an air transportation facility which is safe, efficient, economical, environmentally acceptable, and responsive to the community it serves. $27.34 to $29.83 per hour depending on experience Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), a pension plan with five-year vesting, 11.96% employer contribution, and a lifetime payout upon retirement. Associate degree or Applied Associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics/Automotive Mechanics OR Certificate in Diesel Mechanics/Automotive Mechanics from an accredited two-year college or professional/technical school Five years of related experience and/or training OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Do you have or are you able to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire? Are you fully familiar with OSHA standards covering shop safety, general industrial safety, pneumatic/hydraulic safety and lifting devices? You must possess or have the ability to obtain: First Aid card and CPR certifications Heavy equipment training Brake and Air Brake Inspection Certification Do you possess or have the ability to possess a driver's license and are you insurable? THIS POSITION IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF: Are able to inspect, diagnose, operate and repair to equipment such as lawn equipment, passenger vehicles, graders, dozers, compactors, front-end loaders/attachments associated with Knuckleboom cranes, backhoes, tanker trailers, bucket trucks, heavy trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, and other airport related accessories and equipment? Have knowledge in the use and care of hand and power tools such as chain saws, pumps, air hammers, compressors, specialized tools, electric tools, hydraulic tools and welders? Proficient use of a personal computer and associated peripherals and programs including but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Outlook and various Microsoft products and County programs and internet.
