Meyer Contracting Inc., is seeking qualified applicants for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic opening to join our team. Team Meyer is a Highway/Heavy contractor based out of Maple Grove, MN who performs Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Concrete Structures and Foundations operations primarily in the greater Midwest area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all maintenance and repairs on various pieces of heavy equipment and on-road trucks
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all company owned vehicles and equipment
  • Perform DOT Inspections
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to interpret diagnostic manuals and schematics
  • Some travel required

Candidate Profile:

  • Skilled in the use of a variety of hand tools, gas and electric welding equipment, jacks, and hoists
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed and organized
  • Basic computer skills

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years heavy equipment mechanic experience required
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL Class B) with clean driving record required
  • DOT Certification required

Work Hours & Compensation:

  • Availability for odd working hours, weekends & nights if needed
  • Compensation: Hourly Wage (weekly pay-period)
