TEKsystems' client is seeking entry-level candidates looking to kickstart their career in the IT Support Industry. This position will be entirely focused on diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues for multiple products (mainly desktop pcs and laptops). Technicians will have their own designated/socially distanced workstation. The current work schedule will be Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Employees also receive a 30 minute break for lunch as well as two additional 15 minute breaks per day. The position will initially start out as a 3-6 month contract, but the client has every intention to convert everyone fulltime (pending performance). Training and orientation will be provided, in addition, the technicians can watch repair videos to get up to speed. Work facility also includes a large break room, pool table, foosball table, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives specific work instruction from the repair/prescreen team leads.
- Expertly tests and repairs devices according to work instructions.
- Has expertise in electronic repair over multiple products And/or business units
- Has experience in component soldering techniques.
- Performs necessary system transaction.
- Performs general cleaning of work area to ensure safety and discards all scrap material.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Expert techniques to trouble-shoot devices and perform tests.
- Expertise to use tools to disassemble and reassemble electronic assemblies.
- Expertise to perform test and repair tasks to specific quality criteria as defined by business unit.
- Expertise to perform test and repair tasks within specified time as defined by the business unit.
- Knowledge of and experience in soldering techniques.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aid.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
Skills:
Field service, Desktop PC support, desktop hardware troubleshooting
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- A+ would be nice to have
- Dell Certifications a plus
- Strong Desktop Break Fix skillset
