How I will Contribute:
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts for application in electrical analysis and test, schematic design, and/or PCB layout. Participating in as well as leading efforts in the aforementioned areas.
- Qualification and design/product validation testing, including development of test and project reports.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written, communicating results and findings with the team. Working closely in cross-function teams to lead or participate in design reviews.
- Electrical Component Selection and Testing, working closely with engineers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Troubleshooting designs at a schematic, PCB and Product level, providing results reports.
- Data capture, analysis, and visualization through computer tools or programming languages such as Python.
- Designs, simulates, and tests VHDL for FPGA designs. Ensures the designs meet established quality requirements through test bench development and execution.
- Contribute to FPGA design flows for synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and design verification.
- Execute embedded software and FPGA designs on hardware through iterative development and test, showing real world results of the coded design
What you bring to the role:
- Current enrollment in college (Electrical/Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology)
- First or second year circuits classes and knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Experience with one or more of the following: analog circuits, digital design, mixed-signal designs, RF, power electronics, or embedded FPGA development.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- The ability to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.
- Curiosity and passion for electrical engineering and technology with the ability to learn.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++, R, etc.) or hardware description language (e.g., Verilog, VHDL) is preferred but not mandatory.
- CAD software design experience for schematic capture and PCB Design, such as Altium Designer, Cadence, PADS, EAGLE, etc.
- Experience with circuit simulation using LTspice, Pspice, or similar programs.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with digital design concepts and hardware descriptive languages such as System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL. Experience with developing for Xilinx, Altera, or Lattice FPGAs.
