Job Title: HW Engineering Director

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Hardware Engineering Director to lead our hardware development team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware Engineers. This role requires a firm commitment to meeting deadlines and efficiently managing engineering resources to ensure on-time product delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, Engineering Management; or a related field is required.
- Management Experience: 10+ years of lead or senior-level experience in hardware engineering management; some supervisor experience is preferred.
- Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to maintain structure and ensure successful project execution within set timelines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven interpersonal effectiveness.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of hardware engineering principles and practices.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with JIRA and Confluence to facilitate task tracking and team collaboration.
- Background Check: Must be able to successfully, complete a background check.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading "hardware" engineering teams and managing complex projects.
- Team Oversight: Oversee the hardware engineering team, providing clear direction and support.
- Project Alignment: Collaborate closely with the project manager to align engineering efforts with project goals and deadlines.
- Timeline Enforcement: Work with project management and engineering team to adhere to project timelines and milestones, ensuring prompt delivery of products.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to project managers and teams.
- Work Environment: Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while maintaining high standards of accountability.
- Task Management: Manage and prioritize hardware engineering tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing any deviations from the timeline.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to optimize team performance and productivity. Identify additional resource needs in order to run an efficient team.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes and efficiencies.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize project delays.
- This position is an office-based role that involves working at a desk and using a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training sessions, or project-related activities.
- This position is an 100% on-site position in Pullman, Washington.
