As a hardware test engineer, you will help develop benchtop and portable sensing systems, configure their software for data capture, create test plans aligned to product requirements, and analyze sensor data to provide performance feedback to product engineers and supplier quality engineers. This individual ensures our products meet the established performance requirements and meet the high-quality standards expected by our customers. High product quality is essential to Corsair's continued leadership in quality and performance.
Position Summary, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
Observe current testing processes and procedures for multiple product lines and implement improvements in testing hardware and software.
- Implement and maintain best practices for data capture from testing to ensure quality data is used in a meaningful way.
- Develop advanced testing methods to automate the testing of devices such as keyboards, mice, fans, coolers, systems, etc.
- Work with engineering, quality assurance, and suppliers to develop validation experiments and proper data collection from validations.
- Determine the root cause of failure modes for hardware components and systems and develop actionable plans for continual quality improvement.
- Become an expert on Corsair products, understanding deeply their performance margins and how to challenge those margins reliably in test scenarios.
Essential Skills and Experience:
BS degree in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, Computer, or similar field
- 5+ years in hardware testing, preferably in consumer electronics
- Experience in 8D or other root cause analysis processes
- Experience in data collection with electronic test equipment and data-acquisition systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication of test status and results, including writing formal test reports/records.
- Experience with setup and execution of automated or manual testing systems
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and audio equipment
- Familiarity with Jira or other project management and ticketing software
For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Annual Salary Range $145,000—$165,000 USD
