Job Summary:
A Staff Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing DC-DC power conversion systems for X86 or GPU servers. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure power systems meet performance, efficiency, and reliability standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and optimize DC-DC power conversion systems for X86 or GPU servers.
- Design DC/DC multiphase converters with experience in both analog and digital VRM solutions.
- Design LDOs, POLs, load switches, hot-swaps, e-fuses, and multiphase converters for X86 servers.
- Select components for optimized performance and solutions.
- System Integration: Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate power systems into server architectures.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of power systems to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to power systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, test results, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and implement innovative solutions to improve system performance.
Qualifications:
- BSEE with 10+ years or MSEE with 8+ years of experience in power electronics, focusing on DC-DC power converters. Hands-on experience with high power (1KW+) is preferred.
- Proficiency in using VR validation tools, such as Intel VRTT or AMD Stardust, for system validation and tuning VR designs to meet various design specifications or targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and document technical information.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role.
Salary Range:
$170,000 - 210,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
