The Hardware Integration team is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build modern extensible solutions that bridge the gap between software applications and hardware components. The candidate must be self-directed requiring minimal daily direction while collaborating with the team to achieve agreed upon scheduled deliverable work. The candidate will mentor junior developers and participate in the full software development life cycle. Candidates who would fit in well have an educational background in computer science or related degree, possess real-world experience working in enterprise environments, are knowledgeable in languages like C++, C#/.NET, Java, Go, and exposure to front-end languages like Electron and ReactJS, collaborate well with hard-working agile teams, have a passion for learning, and continually seek individual growth. Desirable experiences also include Linux OS, container frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous communication protocols, and construction and implementation of monitoring, observability, and log collation in systems. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with embedded software for hardware devices.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and test code in a manufacturing environment to verify electro-mechanical systems.
+ Design test modules and user-interfaces with incorporated usability feedback, optimized for interaction by manufacturing staff.
+ Work independently to specify, plan, design, develop, test and support software components as assigned.
+ Work with the team to establish necessary requirements specifications and test plans for software product validations.
+ Contribute to project schedule generation including scope of work, duration of tasks, and order of execution.
+ Monitor work progress against scheduled commitments, report progress to leadership in a timely fashion, including when work will not be completed according to schedule milestones.
+ Propose solutions to maintain scheduled milestones including prioritizing efforts and monitoring scope creep.
+ Translate requirements into designs and implementation of well-structured and documented software components.
+ Implement new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products; participate in the implementation of more complex systems and subsystems.
+ Troubleshoot/debug issues within existing automation systems and implement modifications to resolve these issues.
+ Participate in technical design reviews and code inspections.
+ Ensure alignment to BDDS development policies and procedures.
+ Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements including 21 CFR part 11 requirements, BD quality standards, and convey an expectation of high-quality software.
**Education and Experience**
+ Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering subject area.
+ Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software development through entire product life cycle to develop commercial products.
+ Minimum of 5+ years of experience designing and implementing with C++, C#, Java, or Go.
+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or Mongo.
+ Minimum of 1+ year of experience with Electron, ReactJS, and Typescript.
+ Demonstrated understanding of multi-threaded software design and development is required.
+ Demonstrated understanding of development in a process oriented/regulated environment and adhering to a quality management system is required.
+ Experience working with Linux OS driver development is preferred.
+ Experience using Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code is required.
+ Experience with RESTful and SOAP services, as well as Message Queueing is preferred.
+ Experience with cloud-based technologies from public cloud providers (AWS, GCF, Azure) is preferred.
+ Experience with container orchestration frameworks (Docker, Snap, Kubernetes) is preferred.
+ Experience operating in agile development environments is preferred.
+ Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
+ Strong customer/client orientation.
+ Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are desired.
+ Knowledge of Automation/Process Control experience.
+ Demonstrated capability for critical thinking.
+ Demonstrates a growth mindset and interested in continually learning.

$121,100.00 - $199,800.00 USD Annual
